DEII bed of noise

DEII bed of noise

2013-04-08 by Renato

I've relatively recently decided to venture outside the DAW and got myself
the DEII and a Blofeld. Straight out the box the DE was a pleasure to play
with, in spite of the knob dropping off my off my filter pot when i first
picked it up...

but here's the question, when all dials are set in such a manner that there
should be silence, i'm still picking up low level noise from the DE. It's
running through a Focusrite Pro 40, which has no such issues with the
Blofeld. I've attached an image to show what i speak of.

does this mean i have a dud? or is this simply the "warmth" of analog?

either way, the DE has convinced me to go modular. even if it's just so i
can get the free pot DD promised me with my next order. ;-)

I cannot judge the real amount of noise from the picture, but I can say,
that a hardware synth always will produce a slight amount of noise.
