It was a simple inquiry. Sorry if you feel I'm wasting forum bandwidth or storage space... You know that people shy away from purchasing a unit just because the battery needs to be replaced and it will garner less money for that simple reason (and simple job for those handy with such matters). But, not everyone is technically inclined. Definitely most people aren't interested in upgrading a machine themselves if it means going under the hood to replace IC's... which for them means hiring a tech and waiting who knows how long for the work to be done. MIDI flash-able units are one thing which an average users might approach - although some people won't go near that either. So, if it's okay, I'd like my question about sound ROM's to stand. Perhaps the odds are slim, but maybe someone has a source...? --- In Ensoniq-VFX-SD@yahoogroups.com, "Bob S." <tttsystems@...> wrote: > > I don't know anything about the upgrade, but I suppose if the upgrade were possible and at a reasonable cost, the VFX wouldn't be selling for $100-$150 and the SD-1 for $300-$500 on Ebay...... > >
