the tg500 is a rompler but also with a sample dump memory to add your own sample waveforms its has double the polyphony of the sy85 but lacks the floppy drive and memory expantion to 8mb
both sound identicle very warm and large sounding great fx its got an yam sp990 in there resonant filters
jv1080 are your staple synths have many sounds in the rompler and can add 4 expansion cards from the s7xxx range of sample cdroms in rom format
m3r is a cut down version of a m1
s1000 is a great 16bit sampler very crunchie but no filter resonance but you can add multipul loops from a sample which can be like transwave synthesis you set loop points and how many times looped then it will play that loop set number then move onto the next loop point
;
the fz1 also have this programming feature
did you know that when emu and ensoniq joined that emu eos samplers had loop modulation added its also in the software version emulatorx2/3
richard i have redon those single cycle waveforms an sampled then at a higher frequency and got rid of the anti aliasing noise give me a shout and ill send you a bank in w01 format
richard you need to get a sy85 with your tg500 as they make a great pair especialy when it comes to dumping sysex to the tg500

Hey.
Please can you expand on your answer? What exactly do these racks do? I persume they're connected to the synthesizer, not a computer? Also, whats the difference between a rack and a sampler?

Sorry for asking stupid questions.

I have no problem using the sequencer or anything like that (yet - I haven't gone into anything too advanced...), but the only thing that's stopping me make some of these songs (I'm focusing on 80's songs by the way), is how the default sounds on the VFX-SD aren't anything great. They're not bad, but now I really can see why Ensoniq put a floppy drive in this synthesizer...
