keys in lowest octave insensitive to aftertouch ?

my beloved VFX-SD has a problem, the keys in the lowest octave are very insensitive to aftertouch, else they work perfectly but you really have to pressure them HARD to get any response, the rest of the keyboard works as it should - and all the keys in the lowest octave behave in the same way. I'd be grateful for any hints on potential remedy... Kindest SB
