Sequences

2004-07-09 by scottfree_01

I recently posted a question about selecting sequences for my sd1
from a midi foot controller. I am experiencing some difficulty in
that the sequencer will not advance to the next sequence, with the
midi command, while playing. Are there some settings I am over
looking, or is it not possible to change sequences in this manner.
I would like to change sequences without having to double click the
soft button.
Thanks,
Scott

That's where song mode comes in, you will need to select song mode and setup which seq will play and in what order and repetition.

You can also select to mute certain tracks.. i.e., You can have certain
tracks in the sequence that don't play everytime the sequence is used.
This saves duplicating sequences where only track changes are needed, or
where you wish to add, say, extra instruments, but only in the last
verses, or perform an instrumental track, ... these tracks are muted
when not required. (You can also transpose chosen tracks, whilst, say,
leaving drum tracks intact.)

You have 12 Tracks for each sequence, which you then string together as
a song, whilst muting the occasional track. Then, with the song
compiled, you have an additional 12 Tracks that run the length of the
whole song, giving you a total of 24 tracks. You may decide to use one
of the tracks to store system information such as volume controls, etc.,
for automated playback, or you may use tracks for sending midi to
external sound effects for your band, or your guitars, so that, say,
distortion kicks in at certain points, for guitar, and different reverbs
for vocals. You should be able to automatically change the program
instrument(s) you play live, whether on the SD1, or on another keyboard,
and change programs in, say, electronic drumset, automatically on cue,
including adjusting the volumes, if you have one sound, or sound effect,
louder.

Hope this helps....

Ralph :-)
