Patches and discussion for Ensoniq VFX family

Just got a storcart for my VFX. It has a handwritten lable stating inburn V1.65 on it. Any Ideas on what that is before I format the cart and erase it?

I'm thinking it's the Sequencer version, albeit an old one. The version I have is 2.1.

Well, it must be a service cart. Although it says it is a Storcart 32 the chipset EEPROM inside is the same as a read only cart. (27C256)and the resistors are in RO configuration. 
The sticker on the chip, before I had to remove it to read the chip number, said: Ensoniq Burn in V1.65 4C5. It appears to be for testing or service. I'll have to find a 28C256 and convert it back to a storcart. Kinda bummed I paid for a Storcart and it isn't one.

A suggestion: how about taking photos on the circuit board both sides so we can see what it is.

I keep thinking about getting a RAM cart and didn't know these "almost a RAM cart" existed. I have found some Ensoniq carts can be changed with the fitting of the correct RAM.

I'd also take a ROM dump too for scrutiny!
