I replaced mine without taking out the motherboard. You have to get a battery with solder leads on it. This might be a good one to work at Radio Shack but they don't specify the length <http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3517750#> . This one also might work <http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=10880893>. I'm not sure if 3.6v is what it needs or 3 volts which is the other link. I used a 3.6volt and it works fine. You can open your unit and see the battery located about in the middle of the keyboard on the pcb near the back wall. You might be able to see the voltage on it with a good light and magnifying glass. If you are not good at soldering and have a soldering iron get someone else to help. When you apply the heat for removing the old battery applying a little solder helps the heat flow. Good luck. --- In Ensoniq-VFX-SD@yahoogroups.com, "Bob C" <DJBobbyC@...> wrote:

Oh yea; also make you put the positive and negative leads at the right place. Look for where the '+' sign lead is soldered on the old battery when you are taking it out. Maybe use a sharpie pen to maek the spot. --- In Ensoniq-VFX-SD@yahoogroups.com, "NateofCA" <nateofca@...> wrote:

I just ordered a battery holder from digikey Im hoping it matches the measurements from the schematic shown on the site that matches the pin distance and not the site measurements which are over. I plan to solder this once. So the next time, its just pulling and replacing the battery. If it fits i'll post the part number.. its cheap. I've done this to every keyboard I've own.
