Don't
forget the Fairlight is a sampler and not just a sample playback device, so the
sounds it can produce aren't limited. Also bear in mind the sound quality is
outstanding because of it's expensive hardware and the filters are simply
fantastic, so anything you spit out of the Fairlight is going to have unrivalled
quality (the Synclavier being the only real competition). Sample a 909 into an
Akai AND a Fairlight and the quality WILL be different.
I
think it's a bit pointless getting a Fairlight for just a handful
of presets, you need to make full use of it if you want your money's
worth...
Cheers,
Peter

verify why :))))))))
OK, so it has excellent choirs, that I know, also it has
excellent cello and bagpipes samples- that I also know (I
have them).
Concluding: I just do not want to end up with sour smile
"OK, so you got yourself a Fairlight, now what?". I guess
you could understand, wanting something for 1/3 of your life
you wouldn't like to end up with something with doesn't
live up to your dreams, would you?
I'm after sIII just because of overwhelming, powerful strings
sound I once heard, and believed it was Fairlight: and it
sounded very similar to that in Vangelis tracks (a little less
