Hi Klaus,
This is interesting. I simply forwarded the mail that I received, hence the
attachment with it. Do you not recieve this (very annoying) advertising
from Yahoo with the mails you receive from the forum?
Regards,
Chris.

Hi Chris
Please don’t attach pictures to your mails, unless they have something to
do with Fairlights or other things of interest for the members at this

With reference to Peter's note, the PSB album 'Actually' does in
fact
contain a lot of SIII sounds. If it is strings you're after, the
track 'It
couldn't happen here' is entirely constructed from SIII string
samples,
which apparently took several passes on the multi-track - (the
source of
this is from an interview with the band).
On the subject of the quality of the string samples, I think
that the
Fairlight III is still up there with the best of them. I also
have an Akai
Z4, a Roland S760 and the entire Emulator III library (for the
Z4) sitting
alongside my Series III and it has to be said that the depth and
expressiveness of the Fairlight samples is far better than the
string
samples for these other machines. IMHO, only the Roland comes
close.
Chris.

Yup, heard them all- still unsatisfied :)
OK, so maybe I form this that way: If anyone, who actually has
an sIII, and heard Vangelis' "Dream in an Open Space" (Voices),
can
tell me, if strings section sound one could hear there is a
series III,
because that's what actually I want to achieve.
