James, I have been using CMIExplorer since Rob sent me a copy at the beginning of the year. As I couldn't get my Series III to format either of my spare 4GB SCSI drives (with reference to my previous threads) I pulled the system disk out of my III backed it up in my PC using CMI explorer. The software is, in a word, brilliant. Now that I have backed-up my disk, I mainly use it for auditioning sounds, for which it it much, much faster than using the Series III.
