If this is correct, I would use more or less the same technique: Get the special bent leather pads, soak them in alcohol and rub them gently back and forth in the same direction as the tape passes. Repeat the procedure after a minute or so. Do NOT use alcohol on any rubber parts in the transport. There exists special rubber cleaning fluid from TEAX/TASCAM that does not kill the rubber parts in the long run. Regards, Steve
