Fairlight-CMI

Hi Greg. 

I dont know if you have sorted this problem yet but it looks like the
cable between your music keyboard and the mainframe is at fault.
Either that or the 9 pin d sub connectors are worn out. 
If your keyboard displays 'fairlight' after boot up its not talking to
the mainframe.
An easy way to check this is to load several voices and step through
them in the SC page. As you do this the screen on the keyboard will
will display the corresponding voice name. 
I had the very same problem. I remade the cable (which turned out to
be fine) I then replaced the 9 pin d sub connector on the mainframe
and this worked.
