Thanks Peter. I'll check this out.
Kind regards,

It is "an exceedingly fantastic sound card", which does not use DSPs but provides:

230 Channel paths; each with eight bands of EQ, 3 stage dynamics processing, 12 Auxiliary sends and up-to 72 user definable mix busses: all from a single PCIe card.

There is considerable detail available on the Fairlight.au website, look under Hot Links on the homepage and click on Download CC-1 White Paper.

Subject: Re: [Fairlight-CMI] CC-1 CRYSTAL CORE

Is this CC-1 a DAW base system or an exceedingly fantastic sound card with lots of DSP, i.e. could it potentially replace my Delta 1010, outboard, UAD, etc and work with SX? Sorry for the ignorance, although it sounds intriguing, I'm not 100% sure what this is. I checked out Fairlight's website, but there's very little information...
Cheers,
Peter

I would say its far to early to say that CC-1 is better than Pro Tools HD because its too new and has not been proven.

A good example is NIs KORE was released to much fanfare and the thing was a Native Instruments Disaster (never worked properly and still doesnt)

Myself. I'm getting rid of everything I own, to posess this new and
wonderful system. DSP is really gonna become a thing of the past. At
last the boys at fairlight will conquer the digi-design, that is slow
tools, strangle hold on what is industry standard.
The guys did good. AMAZING!
