Soliciting opinions from those with experience on both machines. I am a former CMI IIx owner, loved it (obviously), but had to sell for financial reasons a few years ago - was buying a house at the time. That being said, I have the opportunity to buy an Emu Emulator I with literally all options - JL Cooper GenMod, JL Cooper MIDI interface, Analog Voltage interface, large library and all software - for what I feel is a fair price. My question is, how does the E1 compare sonically with the CMI? Obviously the features are far slimmer than the CMI, and the interface quite different, but realistically I do not anticipate ever owning another CMI. I loved the character of the CMI, the breathiness of the samples; I know I'm preaching to the choir here... My apologies for the semi-off topic nature, but I would greatly appreciate any input. Cheers!
