Re: [Fairlight-CMI] Fairlight CMI 2X -12 V not lighting

2009-04-01 by Alexander Guelfenburg

Hi James,

well, mostly the PSU is defective but in some cases this happens when a "new" channel card is inserted not properly.

Have you touched the channel cards lately? If so, just remove the channel cards you have inserted and take a look at the -12 Volts.

If you check the fuses, also take a look on the frontside fuses. Needless to say you have to switch off the CMI (better: disconnect all cables) before you do any modification - just to save your and the CMI´s life.

Good luck,
Alexander

Hi,

I have a CMI 2X which when I power it up the -12V light on the front panel
fails to light. The + 12 and + 5 V light fine. The fans come on as normal
but the video display only shows all green. There isn't any " insert system
disk " prompt. I have reseated all the cards and the 3 fuses on the front of
the power supply have been checked. I have also swapped the CMI-133 card but
still get the same behaviour. Anyone have any ideas ? I know there are some
fuses inside the rear panel. I think I will check those later today. Thanks.
