In the past  - we would record a track of sync tone and then feed it back to the Fairlight (IIx) to sync the Fairlight to tape. I never ttried synching with midi though i would assume this can be done on the IIx. I sync with SMPTE now on a series III.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
