IIx floppy drive

2003-11-08 by Laurence

Hi everyone,

I'm having a terrible time getting one of the drives from my IIx
repaired. The "experienced" repair people I've sent the drive to
can't seem to do the job properly and I've had to send it back to
them twice now, much to the irritation of all concerned.

Does anyone know where I can get this thing fixed? Or where I could
possibly buy another one? One place I saw online was asking $600 for
one sold "as-is". Insanity.

The unit is a Qume 242, by the way.

Any and all advice appreciated. As we know, without two working
drives, I've got an expensive paper-weight on my hands.

Cheers,
Laurence
