Greetings Joerg,
Regarding Thriller, I do not know the history there - my involvement was in the early 90's with the Series III; given the time of Thriller, it would have been a Series II (which I also had, but I was not in Los Angeles yet). As for the reason for selling the Series III, I am just not using it - although I have looked in to restoring it (in which case I might use it again). Peter Weilk has been very helpful, and he seems to believe that it would not take much to get it running again (starting with just getting a new drive, which he could easily supply). If the current auction does not yield a happy buyer, I will probably proceed with Peter's suggestions.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Regards,
Todd

Todd,
thanks for the notice. - I do have a question, out of curiosity - and if you mention Michael Jackson, I was wondering whether you could shed a bit of light: The Qantas / Reelin' in the years episodes on the CMI say that the CMI would have been used for Thriller. Elsewhere I got the impression that this might be a near miss (and therefore, the program a little bit over-enthusiastic). Do you happen to know?

I read your drive does not spin. I don't know whether this is the reason for your decision to sell the system - would you want to be able to diagnose the drive instead and keep the system if it could be fixed with some limited effort?
Kind regards, Joerg
