that all sounds a bit sanctimonious, I think you'll find all high end manufacturers spares are both rare and therefore sell at a premium, such as SSL, Synclavier, Neve etc. I know of several dealers that buy large SSL consoles and strip them out for spares because firstly in some cases it makes more sense financially and second many end users need spares and will continue to do so.
