I would tend to agree with you. To be more specific : 

Before I canges my procesor board, all the card co-existed fine.

With the 8 mb card inserted, as soon as I insert the firt 2mb card 
the problem occurs. As I insert more 2mb cards, the problem get worse.

I have not tried it with the 8mb cards ejected and just the 2mb cards 
in place. I will give that a try when I get a chance and report back.
