A rather scandalous suggestion

Hi!

I'm new on the list, and I would like to say a big hello to all the
users of the "cray of the electronic musical instruments" ;-)

I don't have a Fairlight myself and never got the chance to play
one, unfortunatly, for various reasons, mostly due to the fact that,
AFAIK, non were ever imported to Israel (if anyone has information of
a unit that did get here, PLEASE let me know!).

Like many others on this list I grew listening to the myriad of
music that was produced on fairlight machines, by the likes of the
AON, PG, Kate Bush, oldfield, Jarre, and so on.

I was wondering why no one ever made a good sample library based on
the sounds of the fairlight. I know that there was a audio-cd of the
cmiIIx's library , which is literaly impossible to get these days,
but never a actuall cd-rom of the AKAI format, for example.

  So...

I wonder if any of you would like to assist me in making one?

I use propellerheads reason software these days, and I would like
to make good quality multisample keymaps of various fairlight sounds
to use in the NNXT sampler in reason.

basicly what I need is good quality wav samples of single notes of
the fairlights sample library at various pitches. I do realise this
is a lot of work to record, send the files, and to make the actual
keymaps. but my guess (and hope) that some of you may feel the need
to import thier fairlight libraries to their current computer setup,
anyway.

so, what say you? anyone game for this project?
