No offense taken. I based my opening price on the only two recent
sales I've seen in the US. A dead IIx sold for over $3000.00 about 6
or so months ago (it was discussed a bit on this forum). The last
working IIx sold on eBay for just under $6000.00 not more than a few
months ago, and it did not include much of a library, and was cobbled
together from multiple units.
I felt a complete, late revision (all 4A voice cards) fully
functioning system with a large library, spares, etc., that has a
decent history was reasonably worth the reserve. Peter Forrest agreed
when we discussed setting a price. Actually, my opening price is
somewhat lower than what Peter and I discussed.
The beauty of auctions is if the market will bear it, it will sell. If
not, it won't.
Regards,
Daniel
