that's It!

I truly understand you're position as it is quite some work to make the
hardware and re-write the OS, but I really hope (and I guess, the rest of
us) that It will be available one day!

So I wish u all the best with the project and the family.

I think this "virtual box" sounds, it's not good...
because filter are not present on Mac or PC sounds cards

I think "virtual" intrument is a shitt...

If I want real virtual sound, Use Csound or max/MSP...
but not for emulate real instrument, just for create new instrument !

USB-IDE/ATA interface for the I, II, IIx, III, MFX

Just and only IDE/ATA and Usb or Ethernet not SCSI !
and not just for IIX, but for all Qasar base computer.

At this time, all (doc, dev for CMI or Synclavier) is in the Box, due to
my démènagement, and work in the new house !

Because, now, I have three scripts of book has to finish
for two editors. And much of real work, and 2 children's...

The "suite" next year! With other new project... may be possible!
But Fairlight or other hobby, it's not a priorite for me.
I repeat, I have wife and childrens !

You see, my life is quite occupied !

I does not make much time for electronic or music since more d'un year.

Hi Rob,

I've seen JB's project evolution and prototypes. I can tell you he made
great progress during the first half of this year. Since then, they had
their
second child birth and also they will move house soon... So all the
projects are in standby for a few months. But don't worry, the ExtOdy
will exist, as JB really needs it for his IIx !

Regarding the "Cult Sampler" product, it looks like a software sampler
delivered with a library of sounds coming from famous machines...
There's nothing new here. 10 years ago, we already had CDs of Fairlight
samples available for Akai samplers... And it never made the Akai sounds
like a Fairlight. I don't see why a PC could do it today.

These "virtual instruments" and "virtual studio" software have a really
poor
sound quality result. We did use Cubase VST recording and treatment
functionality on a project with some friends... I'll never do it again
!!! It's good
enough for creation and composition, but when it comes to the project
itself,
nothing can compete with the real hardware.

Stay tuned.

	Laurent.

haven't heard cult sampler yet. earlier this year, I picked up an
Emulator II in great condition on E-Bay for about $375 with a Mac II
and Sound Designer for EII. the EII is a lot of fun and sounds
really cool. pretty easy & cheap to service/repair too.
