Series 3 Waveform Supervisor

Series 3 Waveform Supervisor

2005-09-23 by e233dpj

Hi
Does anyone out there have a WS card for a Series 3 (running 9.34).
We have it on good authority that it is probably knackered and means
we can not boot up from harddrive or floppy.
If you have one please let us know ASAP (or even if you can fix ours)
and we'd be very grateful.
We are in the UK

Hope you get this sorted mate... If you still want to come over to
mine and try using mine, you're very welcome.

Cheers,
Peter

Hi Peter,
Thanks. Time to myself is the main problem right now!
How did you get on with the MDR manual?

No worries mate. I understand the time situation myself... It's been
mad at work lately.

I haven't tried anything with the MDR just yet. I've been trying to
get some cool tapes for my streamer working. Not much luck,
unfortunately! It could just be that I need to re-allign the heads.
I've put a post up on this forum regarding this, so hopefully I'll
get a response soon.

Does your Series III have a streamer? Do you know if it's still
working? hmmmm ;-)

Cheers,
Peter

Hi Peter,

No streamer in our CMI. We have 2 internal HDs, so it must have been
taken out to make room. We do, however, have info re streamer in our
manual if this is of any use. Also, our machine is fitted with 8"
floppy drive, rather than 3 1/2. Good for Series 2 file conversion, if
a bit clunky!

Cheers,
CJ

Re: Series 3 Waveform Supervisor

Hi CJ,

I think I have all that is streamer related in my manaul(s).
Actually, the MDR info you sent me, I checked the original manual
(in proper BIG Fairlight binder) and all this info was in here.
Oops. This manual was at work though, locked away in my drawer and I
usually just use the smaller, more condensed manual Peter Wielk gave
me when he peformed the upgrade, which doesn't have any MDR stuff in
it.

Yeah, mine still has the 8" floppy drive installed too. I prefer it
this way as I wanted my Fairlight to be as authentic as possible.

Cheers,
Peter
