Hi , I don't seem to have any of the V2-3 software on my drive in order to convert CMI series 2X voice files to CMI series 3 format. Have any of you had problems with this ? I would like to convert my CMI 2X library to CMI 3 format. Does anyone have the V2-3 software ? Any further information about this would be appreciated ! Many thanks, James Thomson

Hi James,
I've converted many (more than 200) IIx sounds on my CMI III a while
ago.
It's quite a long task as the program converts only one voice file per
run.
I had to write some scripts to speed up the process. But it was still
long...
Then, once the file is in the CMI III format, you have only the
waveform with
all parameters to default values... So you need to work on the sound to
have it sound right. But at the end, I don't think it will sound like
the IIx...
If you want you CMI III play sounds of IIx, maybe the best way would be
to
sample the IIx... But maybe people here have made more experiment on
that topic and I may have missed something....
Best regards.

Hi Laurent, Yes, it does sound like quite a huge task to convert the voice files. What actual utility did you use to do the conversion ? Did you use the V 23 utility ? I don't know why I don't have this utility on my CMI. J'epere que vous vas bien et merci beaucoup pour le reseignment ! Cordialement, James Thomson

Hi James,
Yes, I did use the "v23" util to convert the voice files.
I also recall that it is unable to convert some of the IIx
sounds... But I don't remember the error message.
Best regards.
Laurent.
