And I thought I had the only one in the world! I'd be surprised if the tracking algorithm is still the best, given that it uses a 2MHz 8 bit micro ;-)
I probably have the user manual, if anyone's interested in buying the Voicteracker on Ebay I could copy it for you.

It does track well!, esteemed sir:) Fwiw, if anyone has or gets an older rev Voicetracker VT-5, I've just posted later rev Voicetracker OS Roms' .bin files on the group's yahoo site that have the harmony mode(which is about the best darn thing about the Voicetracker), so if you have or get access to an eprom burner and a few 27256's, you should be good to go. Feel free to ask if you have any questions about how to go about this.
regards,
glenn
p.s. The manual mentions it, but tweaking around with a compressor/limter/gate on the front end really improves the VT-5 performance.
incidentally, while trying to track down a light pen (unsuccessfully) for my series IIx(i have no pen or fairlight monitor, about to try to kluge up a composite out), spoke with a gentleman at the company which last swallowed up the company that made the pens originally, and interestingly enough (to me) he happened to be the exact gentleman whom had demoed the voicetracker at the 1987? NAMM show in LA , on trumpet. Darn small world!

Hello Peter,

I'm afraid, you're not the only one to own this wonderfulf device... ;-)

I do own two VT5. An early version with rev.5 ROMs and another one with rev.7
ROMs. I'll try to upgrade the older one with the rev.8 ROMs to check this release.

If someone need it, I do have a PDF doc of the VT5 (thanks to Rene Yves). It's a
preliminary VT5 user manual printed in January 1985.

Just ask, and I'll post it on my web site.

If someone have a more recent version, I'm really interested to have a copy of it !

Best regards.

      Laurent.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
