Fairlight on ebay

2007-01-21 by Colin Ross

Hi All
The Fairlight on Ebay I know very well. This was bought off Chris
Ringham to a guy I knew in Northern Ireland. He never had a working
pen for it and in later life it had, and still does have alot of
problems. This was caused after flooding in a studio. The midi kit was
an early Fairlight attempt at midi or thats what he told me. He also
told me that it was used on the Fairlight library CD not JJ's the
other one. The name escapes me. Again I dont know if this is true. I
would insist if anyone here buys it to email the guy and ask if you
can try the faulty cards in it first before buying it. The guy that
owns it has got it working as it would not boot the last time I seen
it. At one stage it sat for about a year in my studio. If he didn't
sell it himself he got Ryan Jarberry to sell it for him. He kept Ryan
jarberry afloat for a while as he sold loads through him.
Best Regards
Colin

Taht sounds about right. AFAIK there were at least two CMI II in NI,
and one was the system used for the Pro Rec CD.
