Few questions

Few questions

Hi all,

I've woken my IIx from its peaceful slumber just a few weeks ago and
luckily it's in good working order. Now that it's back in the studio
setup again I would like to dig in again.

- As the IIx is supposed to be able to boot OS-9 does anyone have
this on 8"? I'm specifically looking for assembler/compiler stuff to
really dig into the machine. The service manual mentions a QDOS
version but that one seems to be even more rare. I've contacted Blue
Weaver (most probably the original owner of my machine) and he
mentioned he used to program it using OS9. And Greg Holmes mentions
on his pages that he spent time disassembling, so something must be
out there.

- Has anyone ever seen the Q077/Q087 harddisk controller? Someone
mentioned that the Q777 SCSI would also work. Has anyone ever tried
this?

- Has anyone got 2 Q256 cards in their IIx? If so, what does it do?
Does it expand sequence memory?

Cheers,
Patrick

Yes, CMI IIx work fine witdh OS-9 (the same for CMI III)...
I have assembler for under Qdos and other tools.
My last version of QDos is 5.09, witdh HardDrive drivers !

The Qdos are Fairlight light custom from Motorola MDOS...

Hi JB,

Good to hear from you.
Did you ever get around to finishing that USB thingy?

Would it be possible for me to get a copy on 8" floppys?

In the message archive over here Peter Wielk mentioned he got the
hardware side working, but QDOS wasn't able to see the drives.
