Playing WAV files on Series III

Playing WAV files on Series III

2007-03-03 by kmi9000

Hi,

There is a new release of cmios9 available (2.3-beta5) that can
convert WAV-files to voice files for the CMI Series III -> play any of
your samples on a CMI!
(Vice versa, you can also convert CMI voice libraries to a set of
WAV-files.)

I've also uploaded a zipped file of diskimage templates for 4GB drives:
1) A system disk, containing four K and one C partition
2) CMI sound disk, one large partition
3) MDR disk, one large partition
Please note that these files contain freshly formatted file systems
(and thus are quite small since the rest of the 4GB can contain just
zeros).

Regards,
Michael

Best regards
Brian

Thanks Michael,

This looks really good! I am very interested in VC to WAV conversion.
This app should run on any PC right? I cannot even get it to launch on
mine :( Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Brian,

In principle, Rev6.03 should be supported as well. However, the
problem is how to connect one of those old disks with 256byte
low-level block size to a modern PC or Mac... (Perhaps the Linux SCSI
driver could be modified to support 256byte block size?)
Wavesuper machines (Rev9 and higher) with a firmware upgrade are much
easier to use since they support 512byte blocks.

Best regards,
Michael

The binaries are intended for Win2K etc. You might want to check the
examples (with all the physicaldrivexyz) in the README file.
Please feel free contact me at "m.indlekofer(at)gmx.de" to discuss the
technical details (error messages etc).

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
