Series III - Preview .VC

Series III - Preview .VC

2007-07-31 by Peter Connelly

Hi,
When you press F10 to Preview a VOICE, does it play the samples from beginning to end or will it only play a portion (%) of it? If so, can this be adjusted to play all samples from start to finish within a .vc file?
I could try this out I suppose, but not sure when I'll next be at my studio. I seem to recall it plays only a portion of each sample...
Cheers,
Peter

Peter,
Preview plays all subvoices within the voice in order. They are
played in their raw sampled form.
Hope this helps,

CJ

Thanks CJ... Do you know if it plays the full raw samples, i.e. if a sample is 30 seconds long, it'll play for the full duration or will it only play a preview snippet or for a limited duration, e.g. 10 seconds?
Cheers,
Peter

>Peter,
It plays the full sample length. Because it previews by reading the
sample direct from the disk, it isn't limited by waveform ram. You
can tell it's doing this as the Fairlight logo in the top left
corner of the screen blinks (in time with the LED on your hard drive
if there is one) as it does so. The samples played are "raw" as they
are not modified by any settings on the parameters page (filters,
volume, etc.) Incidentally, you can monitor sounds on the Waveform
Edit page by scanning the small box (window) with the pen.
