Fairlight-CMI

Anyone know if these exist? Any repair stories to share?

Mine has a problem booting. Probably not a big deal to figure out, but 
I wouldn't mind some documentation.  BTW, I have the user manual, 
which I will post as soon as I have scanned it.

CVI = Computer Video Instrument

VT5 = Voice Tracker


If anyone has the VoiceTracker Service Manual, I'm also interested

Oops, you are right Laurent. Somehow my mind tricked me into believing
this was it.

A friend of mine had a VT5 in his shop, about a decade ago, he usually
copies manuals. I'll ask him.

I admire the neat handwriting on the schematics.
With computers around now the art of handwriting is diminishing.
 
I also like that there are waveforms etc.
 
So many manuals these days are for "board jockeys" and not the "repair to
component level" type technician I was taught to be.
Showing my age a bit here....
 
 
Anyway I hope the manual helps getting your machine back to full health.
 
Peter, for curiosity sake, do you know how many Voicetrackers were made /
sold?

Not sure of the number but it was very few as I think we brought it out just
when Fairlight went under, in 1988. Maybe 100?

I do own two VT5 which have the following numbers written under them :  
P007 & P019

I don't know if these numbers where serial numbers ...
