Hello all

Well, one of the 2 new ones here then. Glad to see a group as there doesn't seem to be much activity on Gregs page. I've got a fully working IIx myself with some 150+ disk,..I believe ;-). I had a discussion some time ago about what could be some 'working' projects on our obviously aging machine. Here's what we came up with: - Redo the manuals in standard PDF (or word) format. This takes some scanning (already done) OCR , (which I don't have), and some hefty word processing. - Locate the voice card schematics. I've got two voice cards which are partially broken, but don't have the knowledge to trace the problem. - Build a laptop interface to replace the old monitor and alpha keyboard. Something like thas seems to exist for the series III already. - Locate the old 6809 assembler on 8" floppy. (not the OS9 one) - Fan noise reduction, can they be replaced? - Hard disk interface. Peter Wielk mentioned that the Q70's (or arfrom a series III should work with a IIx, but that's all I know. - Some better means of file exchange than physically swapping 8" disks. Again I heard someone mentioning that there seems to be a spare com port in the innards. Wouldn't it be nice if we could just post all those famous sounds over here ;-) - General tips on 'restauration'. Mine looks a bit worn and I want to get back in the best state possible. Well, just some ideas anyway. Hope anyone is interested and can and wants to help. Cheers, Patrick
