llx CRT Monitor

llx CRT Monitor

2011-08-10 by Howard Smith

Hi Guys

I was wondering if anyone out there can replace the CRT on the llx Monitor? I am in the USA.
My llx is wonderful - but the screen has started to bubble at the edges and it would be so nice to have it all as good as possible. I have seen threads on here (Sadly I could not find them) re doing this and I believe the tubes are still available.
But basically I have 2 left thumbs when it comes to this - so if anyone knows of someone who has done this or if anyone is willing to do this (for a fee of course)I would love hear from them (you).

Please email me at hjsmkv@mac.com
Thank you...
H

Howard,

You are describing CRT "cataracts". The picture tube is probably fine,
it's just the laminate that needs to be replaced. Mine is starting to do
this as well. A Google search should produce several places that do this
kind on work. For example, this place looks good:

Hawkeye Picture Tube (http://www.hawkeyepicturetube.com)

Good luck and let us know if you've had success.

Laurence

Here is a link to a message about the monitor: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/Fairlight-CMI/message/3555
As far as I remember, a Philips M38-327GH is what you would need. This is confirmed in the message I mentioned above. Once you have the replacement tube, just goto a tech that repairs tv's and stuff.

Peter Kersten.
