The series III machine and that I owned and sold, with my sound library. The series III was released in 1985. The ZZTop afterburner cd was recorded the same year and released in 1985. Nothing but the best for ZZtop Band who's origin was from Houston, Texas.

I'am an afterburner fan as well.
cmi is written all over roughboy.

a smooth and constand cmi "oooh" versus distorted oldschool r&b rock guitars.
an atmosphere never reproduced as far as I know.
the blues guitar solo at the end backed by a constant sighing sarah cohen is nothing less than devine.

Is this the series III in action ? or the IIx?

cheers,
David

Not to mention the concept artwork for it, the Rough boy video.....that 'Little ol band' made a brave move with the non-purist approach to that album.
