The sound of Fairlight machines is unique and cannot be matched by other hardware or software.

But what about it makes this machine unique? 

  o The hardware is the key! 
  o The workspace software is the key! 
  o The sound library is the key! 
  o The real Fairlight sound is the library plus the hardware! 
  o The real Fairlight sound comes when everything is controlled from the Fairlight, controlling even the external gear. 
  o When you simply use it as a sampler, the Fairlight sound is already there. 
  o The Fairlight can be replaced by a good software plugin. 
  o It's working the machine that makes you do "The Fairlight Sound" immediately
