liquid photoresist

2008-01-31 by David Griffith

Does anyone here use liquid photoresist anymore? On a lark, I looked for
photoresist on Ebay and came up with this stuff:
http://advancedcoatingsinternational.com/prod01.htm

Unlike all the other spray-on stuff I've seen, this is available in the
US. It costs around $55 a quart, is negative-acting, and cleans up with
soap and water. I'm a bit leery of using presensitized boards because of
the cost and because I already have a decent amount of non-sensitized
boardstock.

Any idea as to how much it takes to cover a board, say 8" x 12"

Where do you buy it from? Have you tried it?

In my opinion I would stay away from it. It usually comes in a spray and the difficulty is getting an even layer without any particles in - almost impossible in my experience.

I suppose that he is regarding the professional photoresist (not KPR,
Positiv20, and so on, that stuff is useless). The professional
photoresist comes in liquid form and is applied with a dip coating
machine. With a litter of it you can cover approximately 200-300 PCBs
sized 12" by 12".

That is correct, guess maybe I should have not cut all the orginally
post that I replied too, I was referring to the ACI photoresit. They
also have solder mask and legend ink.

Has anyone here used any of the ACI products?
