Samsung Ml-2010 laser printer

Samsung Ml-2010 laser printer

2008-09-09 by mycroft2152

I've been using a Samsung ML=2010 laser printer along witha a Xerox
laminator for pcb for a while now. The Xerox branded laminator has an
adjustable temperature setting for foil that works well with the high
temerature toner of the Samsung.

My pcbs started to come out rather poorly after I refilled the toner
cartridge. I couldn"t get a solid enough black to act as a resist.
After some trial and error, I found the the refill toner was not
compatible with the toner that was left in the cartidge. I emptied
out all the toner and vacuumed out the cartidge, then refilled the
toner ad it worked well.

Recently, it started acting up again. I have been using the same
cartidge for a few yers now and had refilled it a number of times. I
went online and found a pdf on how to refurbish a Samsung tom=ner
cartidge.

What was interesting waa that the toner cartidge has a waste bin for
the toner that is not deposited onto the paper. The toner is scraped
to clean the roller for the next print job.

I dismantled the cartidge based on the instructions and emptied the
waste bin, it was jammed full.

The cartidge works great now.

I've posted the instructins for refurbishng the Samsung cartidge in
the files section. It may be useful for other brands too.

One note, there was no "fuse' in my original Samsumn cartidge. The
instruction are for the Dell branded vesion that had a replaceable
fuse inside the cartridge.
