Any Galaad/Percival Users?

Any Galaad/Percival Users?

2014-07-05 by alexanderhosford@...

Hello all,

I'm having some issue with importing an Excellon drill file, generated from Eagle using the stock 'excellon.cam' job, into Percival, the PCB module available for Galaad.

This is a render of where my drills should be, shown with a pad view in Eagle;

And this is what happens to the drills once they are imported into Percival;

I can't quite put my finger on it, but I don't think that's right?

Has anybody got experience with this workflow and can anyobdy shed any light onto what's happening?

Regards

Alex

Hi ,
I also use Eagle, excellon drill files with Galaad copper cam.
Usually the error you have is a mm to inch conversion problem. Make sure your setting are consistent mm or inch.
Also Galaad softwere wants to see trailing zero's in the settings menu with Excellon drill files.

I hope this is some help.
much respect,

Hello all,

Hello Andrew,
I had a similar problem with a DFX inport of a Cap Sense touch-pad to my PCB setup.
The cure?
The inhouse gerber was in inches & me using Metric mm. On correcting the PCB package export, everything worked just fine.

I'm not saying that this will cure your problem, but is worth checking...(Rember the British Mars Rover? A Million Pound Rover destroyed because of the "inches vs mm" disparity)

Hope you sort the problem,
Chester
