Help me find eyelets

Help me find eyelets

2004-10-09 by dave_needle

I make many PCBs at home, using copper eyelets at the method for
thru-holes. I used to buy them from Pulsar (formerly DynaArt), but
they no longer sell them. They sent me to their supplier, but the
price is now way too high.
Does someone know where to get the copper eyelets, or does someone
know a good quality alternative?

Thanks

dave

Why copper? So they will tin-plate to the board-copper, or what? I have
the same problem. I once had some gold plated eyelets that fit into a #56
hole, but they all got used, and I don't HAVE any small ones any longer. Was it
"International Eyelets"???

Someone who knows: PLEASE tell us where to get GOOD ones! (Tin plated
would be good?)

Hello,

Not a direct answer, but htese guys DO have tin lined copper tubing,
(but too big a diameter as std.... But they DO sell hypodermic
tubing as well, so perhaps size could be negotiated<G>

At any rate, it's a start

Hope this helps,

Hi Dave,

Who is the supplier ?

since there is at least one other person who wants them, maybe a
higher quantity order will get a lower price ?

Apparently Mouser sells them for $26 for 500. You can get one type for
10 cents per from Far Circuits: "EYLETS .055 OD .042 ID FOR DOUBLE
SIDED BOARD THRU HOLES $0.10 EACH; OR YOU CAN BUY DIRECT FROM MOUSER
AT $26.00 FOR A PACKAGE OF 500."

http://www.farcircuits.net/misc1.htm

info is a bottom of page.

I haven't tried these, but Far Circuits is a ham who sells many
ham-related PCB's at a very reasonable rate IMO. I assume he would
know what works well. I have no connection to them.

Yep, thats them. The price is 14 cents each in 100 qty.
I have asked them for a volume price at 20,000 pcs, I will need 2000
for me, and I can resell them to whoever else wants them. Hopefully
the price will be under a dime.

Re: Help me find eyelets

Are these eyelets at Mouser too big for what people are looking for?
If nothing else, they sure are cheap.

Stock: 534-22 1/16 Tin plated brass
ID: .045
OD: .059

Price
Qty 1: .06
Qty 100: .028
Qty 500: .025
Qty 1000: .014

Alternatively, as someone mentioned, there are the .055 OD ones at
Mouser also for $28.46 per 500.
