That's exactly the way it works in Sonar..... It just works better for
me. Having that little icon when you minimize the matrix editor would make
all the difference.
Abelton Live basically has the multi-pane window approach - with a little icon to
switch between audio/mixer page and arrange page. Of course their midi sucks
but its great to see creative minds at work and starting from scratch rather than
holding on to a 10 year old archetecture. They have a lot of good plugs too.
I am kind of invisioning set up in Logic, then export audio and doing processing in
Live.
P.S. Thanks for the tip about holding down Option (whoever gave it). That
will be very helpful.
I think that only works from the menu. I have set up function keys F1-F4 to
open matrix, score, event, and markers - and they are not float with or
without option. As something of a work around, I create other screensets
which have linked matrix, arrange, and event lists carefully arranged to
cover the screens.
