So thats normal. Thanks, all. Actually I had figured it out before your reply (before 2:00 AM my time! zzzz) The original wavs were recorded at a 22 mhz rate. After much searching through the reference pdf's, I finally found the sample rate conversion tool (in the audio sample editor, the window that shows the waveform - a menu item there).
