Sure you can do it all "in the box". Some of the top pro's, record everything to analog tape or use Dangerous Audio summing buss because they feel the analog feel gives it a better sound. But I consider those options to be too expensive. Logic has everything you need, although of course, there are plenty of extra plugs which many of us prefer. For example, PSP's Vintage Warmer. If you are only recording two tracks at a time in, then you can mix in the computer, and output a single audio file.
