Ok actually this is kinda making things a bit clearer in my head as to 
what was said.. I believe how Markus explained it, if your key BROKE 
after Jan 2006 and you hadnt upgraded to 7 yet, you were screwed.. If 
your had upgraded though, you were in the clear and were still covered. 
At the time though, you could still get an upgrade from the older 
versions to 7. Im not sure whether theyre still offering an upgrade from 
5/6 -> 7 nowadays though so this may be why theyre telling you to get a 
new license. If they do in fact have an upgrade path still, youre in the 
clear, all you have to do is put in the license key and your XSKey will 
be activated for Logic Pro. Thats all the rest of us had to do. Those 
sales reps can be a little retarded at times to say the least..

Id call em back and specifically ask if there is still the upgrade from 
Logic 5.5 to 7 Pro and perhaps theyll read that part of their little 
canned answer sheet back to you instead hehe.
