I have 3 pair of the HD280s, and mine have held up well too. I use them only a couple times a week, but they're always on the floor or tangled in a pile of cables, so it can't be said that I've been easy on them. They have some of the best sound isolation because of the padding and tight fit. I find them not too comfortable after extended use, but way better than my Sonys that were always killing my ears after 40 minutes. Lighter headphones are comfortable for longer, but let in too much ambient noise for me. Depending on your needs, the HD280 is a good buy.
