I spoke to Apple today because I definately want to move to LP8. I explained the situation 
as described in the quoted posting below. I asked if the upgrade offer would work for me 
and I was told (with a secretive, but congratulatory tone on the part of the Apple  
representative): "Enjoy the software". 

Does this mean that those who purchased LP7 'academic' will migrate to 'retail' if they 
order a new dongle for $100?

Hmmm...  $100 dongle + $200 Upgrade price beats the $500 full purchase price.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
