Doesnt have anything to do with the dongle normally. It was all about 
the activation code you typed into the dongle at first that determines 
whether its Academic/Retail/NFR/etc.. I still have an old blue Emagic 
one though, perhaps it was different with the newer white Apple branded 
dongles.
