You can actually lug around the Imacs. The large screen is really useful in working on Logic. They even sell shoulder bags where you can port around a 20" imac - the only limitation being that its slightly heavier, and you have to plug it in the wall whereever you go. I lugged mine to some coffee shops and to a conference, and it worked fine in that regard. However, I find it bogs down fairly easily in Garage Band (2). I am not sure if Garageband is extremely inefficient, but I suspect that there may be some other issues like the buss speed, and processors, or Level 2 or 3 cache that speed up a mac pro or Mac G5 tower. I just bought a new Mac Pro (2x2x2.6) and I am not all that impressed with the speed. I think I would recommend getting a used G5 tower 2x2ghz, maybe for $800 or so used. Unless you absolutely need portability. You can also put a slew of USB and Firewire connectors - or additional PCI boards, and multiple hard drives. ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
