Yeah, I think some top guys mix hardware on the overall buss or even as send/returns. I am thinking of doing that too. Compressors and preamp distortion seem to be hard to model in software - at least compared to hardware. mercenary.com has plenty of high end compressors but I have heard the cheapo RNC compressor is pretty decent too. -----Original Message----- From: pete_buchwald <pete_buchwald@...> To: Logic_Cafe@yahoogroups.com Sent: Mon, 25 Feb 2008 5:40 pm Subject: [Logic_Cafe] In the Box or Out of the Box Processing?? Just curious what processing people opt to do out of the box instead of in the box with Logic? Recently I've experimented with processing reverb out of the box, and more as an insert. The lack of any latency between original track and the send track I think is the sound I'm preferring. I've toyed with the idea of mixing through outboard stereo compression on the master fader. But .... I guess I don't really own one .... ________________________________________________________________________ More new features than ever.
