This technique is not the same as making an apple loop. The markers are not added as such by bouncing. The resultant audio is simply "Tagged" as being a certain tempo and all subsequent realtime calculations are based on this tempo. And directed to the original poster, a real Apple Loop (AL) has beat markers every 8th or 16th note and offers the ability to "regroove" the audio if desired based on where each marker is placed. The Apple Loop Utility is as good as it gets for making Apple Loops. There is no other format like Recycle or Acid that has ANY compatible metadata or tagging of any kind that is readable by the ALU or any AL compatible host - thus, looking for a program to read existing non AL data is irrelavent. That's it. If you have large recycle libraries I suggest you keep working with them that way using Logic's EXS 24. Or if you want to get AL features that Recycle doesn't offer then simply convert to AL format when required. The ALU does very good batch conversion BTW. For Acid or other "true Elastic Audio" formats you have no choice but to convert to AL's IF you want to work in LA format.
