Apple Logic Pro /LogicExpress Discussion

OK, heres a new one I just encountered.  I have a M-Audio MIDI-to_USB  
device that I never use, but had to use it last weekend.
After recording some midi piano with it for about 20 minutes  
flawlessly, Logic 8 suddenly doesn't "see" it anymore, and can't get  
it to reconnect to it.  I have tried everything, from re-loading the  
driver, to changing usb cables, etc.  Does anyone else have a problem  
with this unit?  Solutions?  Do you recommend something better (the  
pianist is coming back next weekend)
